heres one of my favorite quotes.
For years my fly-casting technique
was compared, rather banally i
might add , to an old lady fighting
off a bee with a broom handle.

Just got back. Best edition of the show in years, I thought. Seemed to be a lot more firearms on display, and more tractors (I've taken to daydreaming about tractors, strangely). Lots of people hawking raffle tickets, as usual. I came out a few bucks lighter, thanks largely to the Delta Waterfowl booth -- $10 tickets on a Browning Maxxus. I'm also all but assured of winning a boat & motor, a Sage salmon rod and about a half-dozen crossbows. Crossbows are definitely the new flavour of the month. Seemed like every second booth had one on display. Ironically Steve, your crossbow guys were about the only ones not selling tickets on one, and after my Delta pit stop I couldn't quite bring myself to ante up for a membership.

Any of you guys who go, make sure you try the soft pepper gouda at the cheese booth. Brought home a large bottle. Even better, wander across the hall with your cheese in hand and have it with a sample of Sainte Famille wine.  Wink

Actually, the correspondence we received led us to believe that the promoters would be limiting raffle sales due to complaints from previous years, so we opted against this... Sucks...Could really hurt our membership drive...Why spend $20 on a membership when you can take a chance at winning stuff with the same cash...Then again, all I do usually is buy tickets and dream of the other stuff...P.S. If you win a crossbow, be ready to pony up your $20...lol

Don't know how we missed, Eric...Keith didn't go; sick child at home...I was there for the entire day and in the booth for most of it with the exception of the short trip I took around to spend my ticket money...Very very busy day and tons of interest in our group and crossbows in general, all favourable...
